wind whispers through grass
sleepless night, the wind and me
you can see through us
10.10.11
hunter’s moon…
the dogs snuffle the grass
geckos climb the house

10.09.11
rain-soaked grass
I wipe mud from dog feet
summer fades
10.08.11
ten minute rain…
gray roof water in buckets
sloshing over the sides
12.08.10
Sunset glow–
orange, behind houses.
The dogs crunch
through the fallen leaves
looking for… what?

12.07.10
My feet ache with cold.
I bundle up and go inside,
the A/C set for summer.
12.06.10
A late grasshopper,
brown like old bark, leaps away
from my winter shadow.
12.02.10
My dry knuckles crack,
bleeding in the morning cold.
The dogs tug their leashes.
12.01.10
Vapor trails
tic-tac-toe the sky.
Nothing moves.
11.30.10
A caracara rides up the sky—
sunlight silhouette—
beyond him (I almost miss)
that ghostly blue sky moon.
